In the 110kV~220kV high-voltage power grid, the reason for the burnt and broken cables of the optical fiber communication cable is caused by electric corrosion. The main causes of electric corrosion are as follows:
(1) Breakdown: The space potential of the ADSS optical cable is too high, so that an electric arc with sufficient energy is generated on the surface of the ADSS cable, which causes a great deal of heat, which causes the outer sheath to break down and a molten edge perforation appears. At the same time, the aramid yarn is also burned, which greatly reduces the mechanical strength of the ADSS, which causes the cable to be broken.
(2) Electric tracking: The arc forms a radial (dendritic) carbonization on the surface of the expanded sleeve. After the electrical tracking of the M3SS optical cable occurred, its sheath cracked under the action of tension and the aramid yarn was exposed.
(3) Corrosion: When the ADSS cable is in a high-potential electric field, there will be leakage current through the sheath and generate heat. This heat will cause the polymer of the sheath to slowly lose its binding force and eventually fail. It is manifested by the roughness and thinning of the surface of the sheath. The corrosion phenomenon occurs slowly.
(4) Dry band arc: In the 110kV~220kV high-voltage power grid, the ADSS cable is in a high electric field and dirty environment. The surface of the optical cable has a high potential, and it becomes very dirty due to the pollution. Therefore, the ADSS cable and the grounded hardware When a certain leakage current passes through the outer sheath of the optical cable, heat is generated. This heat not only reduces the bonding force of the outer sheath material polymer of the optical cable and makes it invalid, but also causes the moisture on the surface of the optical cable to evaporate, and some drying bands appear randomly, which hinder the flow of leakage current. As a result, at both ends of the drying belt There is an accumulation of potential. When this potential accumulates to a high enough level, a discharge phenomenon occurs on the surface of the outer sheath of the optical cable, forming an arc, which is called "dry band arc" or "dry band flashover". It can be seen that the electrical corrosion of the ADSS cable is caused by the dry belt arc.
